SHG 2025 August Travel Update

Stirling Highland Games | Sat 16th August | Stirling Sports Village, Stirling

We are really looking forward to seeing you at the 2025 Stirling Highland Games event on Saturday. We wanted to share some travel tips with you as the event looks like its going to be a busy one.

WALKING

We encourage everyone that can walk to Stirling Sports Village to do so. It not only helps you by not having to sit in the car in a queue, it helps lower traffic congestion which is good for our team on the day as well as our neighbours.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Our next option for you is to take public transport if you can.

Stirling is the most central of all Scotland’s cities and the most compact. Once you get off the train or bus in the city centre, Stirling Sports Village is just 1 mile away once you cross the pedestrian bridge at Stirling Train Station.

There is also the park and ride bus [£1] that you can jump on at Stirling Train Station and get off outside of Stirling Sports Village.

CAR

We understand that you might have to take the car, and that is fine, we just want your experience with us to be a good one, including your travel.

If you are travelling on the motorway, then consider parking at Castleview Park & Ride and then jump on the park & ride bus, which will drop you off right outside Stirling Sports Village. The bus will be like a little tour of the city as you cross it.

If you wish to park closer to Stirling Sports Village, then consider parking at Forthside car park [££] or Springkerse Park & Ride [but best not to drive by Stirling Sports Village to get there ]- then its a 5 mins walk over to Stirling Sports Village.

Lastly, yes, there is parking at Stirling Sports Village, but this is shared with the sports centre, so it is busy anyway. The queues at the roundabouts outside will be at their peak between 10:30 and 14:00, and the 2 allocated car parks we use at Stirling Sports Village are full by 11:30, so please have a think about how you are travelling here and plan your journey.

Whichever way you choose to travel, we hope you travel safely and you have a great day with us in Stirling.
